I’ve been pretty inactive on here lately because I’ve been working hard on some new projects. The biggest one is this: SportDevos.com, a sports devotional site that has over 500 devotionals written across 19 different categories that an athlete/team regularly encounters. I’m in talks with a major Christian sports organization to add more than 1000 more from their character coaches (chaplains.) Its major differentiating feature is that you can search the site in plain language, not just key words. Plus, if you want your athletes to have something to remember the devotional after it’s done, there’s a pre-formatted takeaway half sheet for every devo that you can print and hand out or put in their locker.
I was keeping it under wraps, but last night’s Oregon/USC game featured a late hit/targeting penalty that knocked Oregon quarterback Dante Moore out of the game and into the hospital and I thought, “Let’s type in ‘Our star quarterback got targeted with a dirty hit.’” Here’s what the search results looked like:
