New Devotionals for College Football Fans
Football, Fandom, and Faith launches at SportDevos.com
Back in the spring, I wrote a post titled “My Jacked-Up Goodbye”, and in it, I talked about stepping away from the life of a lead pastor to make room—for healing, rest, and new opportunities to create things that God might bless out of my brain. I didn’t know exactly what would come next… but I did know this:
I had a deep love for the intersection of sports, faith, and story, and I wanted to try something audacious.
Today, I’m excited to finally launch one of the most ambitious projects I’ve ever taken on:
👉 Daily digital devotionals for nearly every Power 5 college football team; almost 70 teams — over 100 devotionals per team, tracking each week of the 2025–26 season — now live at SportDevos.com.
The Vision (and the Pivot)
The original plan was to create a printed devotional book for every team. That was a mountain-sized goal, but I mapped it out and started climbing.
Then life did what life does best: it blitzed me.
Two unexpected emergency cross-country trips—completely shifted the timeline. The print edition playbook had to be thrown out mid-game.
But God opened another route.
Instead of shelving the idea altogether feeling sacked and defeated, I pivoted. The books are now beautifully designed digital downloads—easy to read on your phone, tablet, or Kindle. And here’s the kicker: they’re “pay what you want.” Even if that’s zero. Because I’d rather see people growing in faith than counting dollars.
Where to Start
You can get the team devotionals now at SportDevos.com.
SEC: All teams posted
Big Ten: Most are up now
Big 12 & ACC: Coming by the end of the weekend
Pac-12 holdouts: Yes, Oregon State and Washington State are included too (because loyalty matters)
Each devotional walks through seven days a week, themed around the team's matchups, mindset, Scripture, reflection questions, and even a little humor. Thursdays are Brotherly Trash Talk Thursdays—because God’s people can roast mascots and glorify Jesus at the same time. (In moderation. With grace. And gifs.)
Here’s a day from the Oregon devotional:
Why It Matters
If you’re a fan, a player, a coach, or just someone who loves someone who loves college football—this is for you.
It’s for the dad checking scores and needing Scripture.
It’s for the college athlete balancing faith and film study.
It’s for the person who needs a nudge to pursue a passion project that seems way too big to finish.
This is my nudge to you.
I could’ve easily called this off when the travel disrupted everything. But instead of giving up on the mission, I just changed formations. And by God’s grace, we’re moving the chains.
Final Whistle
If you’re into faith, football, or both, go grab your team’s devotional—or send the link to a superfan in your life:

And if you’ve got a dream that feels impossible, especially when life throws flags, remember this:
God is not surprised by your detours. He’s just calling a different play.
Don’t give up.
The game’s not over.
You might just be in the best part of the story.

Thanks for the generous donation Roberta! The download link appears right after you click through and also comes in an email through Gumroad, but I personally emailed you the devotional late last night after seeing this comment. Hope you enjoy!
I signed up for the Oregon duck devotional and made a contribution but cannot pull up the dailies; I keep getting this intro. Sorry Michael I’m not very savy on the internet
